Ecologic NRM

Ecologic NRM was established in 2024 by a team of professional environmental assessors and managers with decades of experience working with national, state and local government agencies, port and waterway management authorities, private organizations and private landholders. Based in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland, Ecologic NRM sits within the Ecolands Collective, a group of active and emerging environmental organisations committed to private land conservation, better land stewardship and empowering individuals and communities to leave a living legacy for future generations. Our clients include local Shires, catchment management authorities, Parks Victoria and private individuals. We seek to work collaboratively with other Ecolands partners including Wildlife Unlimited, a Bairnsdale based charity which also employs a highly experienced group of ecologists and biodiversity conservation specialists.

About us

Ecologic NRM was established in 2024 by a team of professional environmental assessors and managers with decades of experience working with national, state and local government agencies, port and waterway management authorities, private organizations and private landholders. Our work involves flora assessments for statutory planning applications, drafting and/or auditing of management plans and strategies, offset site management, surveys for threatened flora species and ecological communities, and surveys for weed and/or feral animal impacts in threatened ecosystems.

Mission, vision, purpose

Ecologic NRM’s decision to transition to a ‘Profit for Purpose’ model reflects their commitment to the environment and to actions that restore our landscapes, reduce carbon emissions and protect the ecosystems we all rely on. We strive to be an ethical consultancy ensuring biodiversity values are foremost while providing an excellent service to NRM clients in the region.

Work culture and values

Ecologic NRM is a family friendly workplace; staff with children or other caring responsibilities can request certain working hours (e.g. taking time off in school holidays and working within school hours). Although a small company, we are committed to reducing our environmental impacts and have a Carbon Emissions Reduction Plan with targets (to be reviewed and reported on annually).

Additional details

Ecologic NRM has now completed its first financial year and has earmarked profits to support research into training of young people, support for the locally threatened peregrine falcon; and matching support for Landcare projects in East Gippsland.
